Transcribe! Help : About Shareware and Registering

Transcribe! is Copyright © 1998-2002 Seventh String Software.

Transcribe! is distributed as "shareware".

This does not mean that the software is free, but it does mean that you may download it for 30 day evaluation from the internet for free, and you may freely copy and further distribute it so long as you have not modified the program or its associated files in any way.

If you have not registered Transcribe! then each time you launch the application you get the "Unregistered Copy Of Transcribe!" dialog. Once it is registered, you don't get this dialog.

There are two steps to registering Transcribe! :

• EITHER : Register online via a secure server (RegSoft) with a credit card. The internet address is http://www.regsoft.net/purchase.php3?productid=31247
or if you cannot use secure http then http://www.regsoft.net/purchase_nonsecure.php3?productid=31247.
Note that if you prefer not to give your credit card number over the internet then you can still use these links. You will find at the top of Regsoft's page are links for Phone and Fax registration.
• OR : Fill out the Registration Form and mail it to us, along with your registration fee.
• OR : By Phone: You can register via a Voice Order Line at 1-877-REGSOFT (1-877-734-7638) (Non-US users must dial 770 319-2718 (USA)). You will need the RegSoft "Product ID #" which, for the Macintosh version of Transcribe!, is 31247.
• OR : By Fax: You can register by fax at 1-800-886-6030. Non-US users must dial 1-208-279-3837 (USA) except in the UK where you can dial (0870) 132-2485. You will need the RegSoft "Product ID #" which, for the Macintosh version of Transcribe!, is 31247.

We will send you a registration number in return.

• THEN : Hit the "Register Now" button on the "Unregistered Copy Of Transcribe!" dialog which appears when you start the application. Fill in the dialog which appears, and hit OK. Note that you must enter both your name and your registration number exactly as they appear in the registration info we send to you. It's best to use copy & paste so as to avoid typos. That's it.

Please note that if you register at RegSoft then you will receive from them an order confirmation : this does not contain your registration information. Your registration information will come from Seventh String Software within 48 hours and usually sooner.

Also note : if you don't hear anything from us then it may be that there is a problem with your email address. Occasionally we send emails to people and they don't get through but they don't get bounced back either, so we are not aware of any problem. So if you don't hear from us, send us an email with an alternate reply address (give the email address of a friend of yours) so we can contact you.

If you want to run Transcribe! on multiple machines (e.g. an organisation such as a university) then you will need to purchase multiple registrations. Discounts are available in this case, in fact you pay full price for the first 4 copies and half price for all subsequent copies. You should email us for more information if you want to do this.
